As I drove along a countryside road this
morning, a Red Kite flew dangerously low near my car. Within seconds he swooped and claimed the
dead rodent that lay in the road ahead. His presence and determination
startled me, as I had not been anticipating his calculated swoop for an early
breakfast. I wondered if I had frightened him? Undaunted, he collected breakfast, went his way and I went mine.

Nature! It's amazing, and a little scary too!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Beautiful birds and amazing to watch ... from a distance!
ReplyDeleteWhat a memorable moment. I like your poem to it.
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth, thanks for stopping by. I enjoyed reading all about the Dickens Fair you attended in December. Sounded like great fun.
DeleteThat must have been some swoop!
ReplyDeleteNot wise to come between a Red Kite and his breakfast!
DeleteI don't have any desire to share the Red Kite's breakfast! They entertain me from my garden with their sky aerobatics and playful games. Just a joy to watch.
